3. Coleus

Coleus is the perfect plant for those who love variety. Their leaves come in almost every color combination you can imagine—greens, pinks, purples, and yellows, often with eye-catching patterns. They thrive in both sun and shade, making them one of the easiest ways to add bursts of color to your garden. 4. Hostas
The Classic Beauty
Hostas are like the quiet, dependable friend in your garden—they never disappoint. Their large, sculptural leaves range from deep green to bright chartreuse, often with lovely variegation. 5. Heuchera (Coral Bells)

Heuchera, or coral bells, might just be the most underrated plant out there. Their ruffled, lobed leaves come in shades of deep burgundy, silver, lime green, and even caramel tones. They thrive in partial shade, and their delicate little flowers attract hummingbirds. A perfect plant for tucking into rock gardens or along pathways!

Ninebark is a shrub that constantly changes its look throughout the seasons. In spring, its deep burgundy or golden foliage stands out against bright green gardens. As the seasons change, the foliage takes on rich tones of orange and red, making it a standout plant for autumn. It's low-maintenance and thrives in just about any soil—great for adding a little wild beauty to your garden!
8. Sweet Potato Vine
The Cascading Beauty
Looking for a plant that spills beautifully over the edges of a planter or hanging basket? Sweet potato vine is your answer! With its trailing vines and heart-shaped leaves in vibrant greens, purples, and deep burgundy, it creates a lush, dramatic effect. If you’ve never touched a lamb’s ear leaf, you’re missing out! Their silvery, velvety leaves feel just like their namesake. Not only do they add a soft, muted color to your garden, but they’re also drought-tolerant and perfect for a rock garden or border.
12. Summer Poinsettia
The Firecracker Plant
This plant is a summer show-off! Its green leaves transform into fiery shades of red and yellow in midsummer, giving it a look similar to the classic Christmas poinsettia. It grows up to four feet tall and makes a fantastic focal point in flower beds.
