DIY Independence Day Sign

Updated: Apr 2, 2024

I love creating for each special Holiday.

This is perfect and so much fun to make!

Supplies you need:

  1. 1 inch wide popsicle sticks

  2. Independent print or anyone you want to use

  3. Hot Glue

I first glued all my sticks like this I used 9 of them .

I then used my Chalk paint and painted them brown . Any brown you have will work .

Then I ran my candle over it . This helps create that nice chippy effect.

I then painted it an off white .

I let it dry then I started scrapping the paint off .

It gave me this wonderful chippy look!

I did run my ink pad here and there to give it a grudge look!

Once I was done I went ahead and decoupaged my Print on .

I love this look ! I had already antiqued my print prior.

Here is a similar print you can use .

Here's the link.

I got a piece of corrugated cardboard and cut out a star .

Cut it out whichever shape you want .

I ran my ink pad over it to give it the distressed look !

I went ahead and cut out a small piece of muslin I had already coffee stained .

I got my letter out and stamped USA on it .

I then tore the piece to make it smaller ... I like that look of tearing it opposed to cutting it with scissors...

I then got out my crackle stamp and used it on my wood placing it in different areas to achieve that look I wanted ...

I love how it came out!

I did run my ink pad across my piece when I was done ....

You don't have to do this but I love that old look!

I then glued my USA on my star then glued it to the board .

I made a very simple bow with some scrap pieces of material.

I then added a hanger .

That's it look how adorable!

So simple to make !

I just love how it came out !

I always say you don't have to spend a lot of money to create fun seasonal decor!

I hope you give this a try !
