Burlap Snowman

You can never have enough snowman ornaments! They're perfect to leave out throughout the winter months. Here's a fun and easy ornament to create in no time.

Crafting the perfect winter ornament is a delightful way to embrace the season, and snowman ornaments are a timeless favorite. Ensuring you never run out of these charming decorations, consider making your own with this simple and enjoyable DIY guide.

To create this fun ornament , gather the following supplies:

  • Burlap-covered ornaments (Available at Dollar General, usually in packages of three)

  • Acrylic paint in Red, Black, White, Orange (Choose any brand you prefer)

  • Sealer spray or spray adhesive

  • Glitter

While the specific burlap-covered ornaments might not be available, you can easily find something similar at your local craft store.

For the paints, the choice is yours; here are the acrylic paints I used. Feel free to use any brand you prefer.

Additionally, you'll need spray adhesive for the project. I recommend the one I used, available at Hobby Lobby or Dollar General.

They might not have this particular one but I'm sure you can find something similar!

Now, let's get started on creating your snowman ornament. Begin by taking your white paint and painting a circle on the ornament—a simple and straightforward first step. Easy peasey!

Moving on, add rosy cheeks to your snowman by lightly applying red paint. Adjust the intensity according to your preference. To achieve a subtle effect, consider wiping off excess red paint from your brush.

I just added very little on the end of my brush .

I then wipe some of that red paint off . So his cheeks are not so bright ...

Now, it's time for the nose. I opted for burnt orange, but feel free to choose any orange shade you like.

Using a liner brush, load up the paint and create a whimsical nose.

Remember, each snowman should have a unique character, so don't overthink it.

For the eyes, use black paint. The end of a stylus works well for this, but you can use a toothpick, pencil, or thin paintbrush.

Now the little fellow is looking at you! Lol

Give your snowman a friendly gaze!

Add a cheerful smile using the liner brush and black paint. Keep it simple and spontaneous.

With the liner brush once more, outline the nose and head with black paint. This finishing touch brings your snowman to life.

Now, it's time to seal the deal. Use spray sealer, adhesive, or even hairspray for this step.

Lightly spray over the ornament, ensuring to catch any extra glitter. Sprinkle glitter generously, then give it another light spray for a secure finish. Voila! Your adorable snowman ornament is complete.

Feel free to unleash your creativity by painting this cute snowman head on many surfaces. The possibilities are endless, and I hope you enjoy trying this DIY project.
