There’s something about fried pickles that already feels like a little bite of Southern heaven—but pair them with the right dipping sauce, and you’ve got *pure magic*. That’s where this creamy, zesty, spicy little number comes in: my **homemade Voodoo Sauce!
This sauce is bold, tangy, and just the right amount of spicy to make your taste buds dance. It’s the perfect match for crispy fried pickles—bringing out their salty crunch and adding a punch of flavor that’ll have everyone going back for seconds (and thirds).
Fatima’s Voodoo Sauce Recipe
Here’s what you’ll need:
• ½ cup mayonnaise
• 2 tablespoons ketchup
• 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
• 1 tablespoon hot sauce (Crystal or Louisiana Hot Sauce work great)
• 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
• ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• ½ teaspoon onion powder
• ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, but highly recommended if you like heat)
• 1 teaspoon brown sugar
• Salt & pepper to taste
• Optional: Finely chopped jalapeño or a splash of pickle juice for extra kick
How to Make It:
1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayo, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, and Worcestershire until smooth.
2. Stir in the vinegar, spices, and brown sugar.
3. Taste and adjust—add more hot sauce if you like it spicier, or a touch more sugar for balance.
4. For that extra pop, mix in some finely chopped jalapeño or a dash of pickle juice.
5. Let it chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving—the flavors really come together as it rests.
Perfect Pairing Ideas:
While this sauce is made to complement fried pickles (seriously—they were meant for each other!), it’s also incredible with:
• Fries
• Chicken tenders
• Onion rings
• Grilled or fried shrimp
• Burgers and sliders
• Veggie sticks for a bold, creamy dip
This voodoo sauce isn’t just a dip—it’s a flavor experience. Give it a try, and you’ll see what I mean!
